Critique: Backyard feeder, September, 30 frames
Thirty feeder frames. Two clean perches; the rest fight a busy background.
The set
Thirty frames through the kitchen window, Z6III and the 70-180mm at 180mm. Mostly Carolina Chickadees, a Tufted Titmouse and one Brown-headed Nuthatch.
What works
The nuthatch on the pine branch: clean perch, soft background, catchlight in the eye.
The fix
The feeder pole and fence are in most frames. Move the perch branch two feet left, so the background becomes the far hedge, and the set improves without changing a setting.
