Shots, keepers and keeper rate by month and genre, from the Lightroom catalog.

Totals

About 9,400 frames over the last twelve months, 610 flagged keepers, a keeper rate of 6.5 percent. Street is the biggest share by frames; birds have the lowest keeper rate.

By month

Spring migration and the Outer Banks weekend are the two busiest stretches, with the Lisbon trip a close third. Late winter was the quietest: three outings in four weeks.

By genre

Street 41 percent of frames, birds 28, landscape 14, family and friends 12, other 5. Family photos have the highest keeper rate, at 14 percent.

What to change

Fewer bursts on perched birds. Most of the bird frames are near-duplicates of a bird that did not move.
